'ello you. Doing good and thanks for dropping by. Expats, eh - had a gutful of that site and don't intend on returning any time soon. It's funny actually because as soon as I stopped posting there it went out of my mind and I very rarely think about it now. Just swung by undercover to have a look and it's the same old bollocks for the most part - not good for my blood pressure! Anyway - working for myself again at the moment - packed in my Sydney job because the driving got to me. Enjoying life in South Coast NSW. How's tricks in Perth?

I live in the Canary Islands and for my British tv I use the services of https://www.pc-streaming.com/store/. They have a British online tv access account which I think is the same as a vpn.
It was a doddle to set up, just been watching the FA Cup footie on ITV.
Really recommend them.

Hi Ted,

Really enjoyed your piece on watching UK TV. I'm an expat Scot and lived in Sydney for 2 years. I agree entirely with your comments about the home grown TV. Best progamme for me was Rockwiz. The homegrown stuff was either too violent or too banal. The beeb seems to get it right most of the time - so I need to sort out way of seeing and/or downloading progs.

I'm now in Montreal, Canada, and if you thought the OZ TV was bad, imagine watching similar hogwash in French. There's the odd US channel but the adverts and previews make it virtually unwatchable. I'm sure I a saw show the other night that had adverts during the credits!

I'm quite tekkie so I don't expect to have problems setting things up but I do have a huge fear of torrent sites and the potential for viruses. I don't visit dodgy sites and I've got Macafee running and so far have been trouble free. I'm thinking of using a seperate PC for the TV stuff, one that's not connected to the home network and would only be used for the TV - any comments?

Hope you are enjoying the warmth in Oz. It's a distant memory to me now. Last weekend it was minus 29 here in Montreal. The locals say you know it's cold when you step outside and with the first breath your nostrils stick together!

Looking forward to an update on the TV blog.
