About
My name’s Ted. I was born and raised in England, but now live in Australia. I’ve been married to Liz for 11 years and we have a six year old son called Jack. We live on the South Coast of New South Wales in what is officially called the Shoalhaven. I’m a PC geek who fixes misunderstood computers, Liz’s a successful web designer and Jack is a schoolboy and budding cactus expert.
I first started writing this blog because I wanted to record a momentous time in our lives – namely emigrating from the UK to Australia. I wrote it for myself, but I’m more than happy to share the ups and downs with everyone. I can’t promise it’ll always be rivetting – but it is, at least, real life.

Well I can finally say thank you for all the sanity that you have kept me ? i have been without the internet for quite some time and every now and then when i had a chance i used to copy your blog of line so i could read it when i had a bit of piece and quiet (which doesn’t happen too often here in Prague)Im not sure when i found your blog but i know it was when i was looking for tv channels abroad.
I cant explain how envious i am of yur life right now, I was living in Oz for 2 years (roughly) and am planning on coming back, not sure when !
I doubt you have been here yet because im sure you would have mentioned it, but if you get a chance go to a place called Cronulla, Im sure you have heard of the sharks ( cronulla that is) Well go check it out it is by far the most plesant place i have been too,
shame about the riots they had a few years ago though ! ! !
Any way i was hoping you could tell me what blog site you use ? i’m sure you said you use your own but i could find the blog where you might have said that. also could you explain to me how you can tract what people have read your blog and for how long and all the other info you had, i thought that was quite amazing.
Finally, without sounding too much like a bunny boiler, may i ask what you have in certification wise as a computer technician, I have been trying to find a place here in prague but with little time because of the weird shifts i work and because of the lack of net connection i havent yet found a suitable course.
All the to you and yours,
Jez

Hi Jez
Thanks for the kind comments. I have been to Cronulla – very nice place it is too! There again, Prague’s certainly not an ugly city!
I use software called WordPress for my blog – you can either download it and run it on your own server – or just use a managed version of it at the wordpress site. It’s far and away the best blogging software around and I love it. With regards certification – I have none – just over 20 years experience fixing the things
I can get away with that because I work for myself, if I was looking for employment I’d need the usual Microsoft certifications, such as networking/XP/Windows server etc.
Best of luck with your return to Australia.
